NinjaBox-Z Series accelerates throughput of SNORT up to 8x
Auckland, NZ, June 27, 2007 - Endace Limited (LSE/AIM: EDA), a world leader in network traffic monitoring solutions, today announced availability of their NinjaBox-Z Series network monitoring platform. Running at gigabit and 10-gigabit speeds, the NinjaBox-Z Series allocates traffic across Intel® processors to enable standard servers to boost performance of applications such as the industry-standard Snort® Network-based Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) up to 8X.
"Endace’s load-balancing technology is giving us outstanding performance," says Bill Terwilliger of Harvard University’s UIS/Network Operations Center, "We have over 40 Snort processes running at about 50 percent utilization, something we could never have done with off-the-shelf hardware. We’ve been able to use Snort the way we want to and still inspect 100 percent of the traffic. Our maintenance is easier and we haven’t had to compromise on thoroughness."
