Give your own applications the power to see all
Many of our customers use our Probes to capture 100% of their network traffic so it can be used to fuel their own custom or 'in-house' network monitoring, network security or other packet-based applications.
For example, some of our Telco customers use captured network packet data to measure quality-of-service (QoS) flows across their networks – using their own proprietary applications for analysis, alerting and workflow. Where as others just use our Probes for NetFlow generation as they are so accurate, effective and predictable.
Your own applications can be enabled in two different ways:
- Captured data can be forwarded across your network to your application running on its own standalone hardware thanks to our Probe Architecture, which enables any data source to be connected to any Application (internal or external) through a variety of standard APIs and interfaces including Soap/XML, syslog and SNMP.
- Alternatively, your application can be deployed on an Endace Probe running our Open Development Environment software. This limits your application to a single Probe deployment.... at least for now.
