EndRun Technologies Præcis Ct™ CDMA Receiver
|
The EndRun Technologies Præcis Ct™ is an integrated CDMA receiver designed for high-precision timing applications using the latest technology. When used in conjunction with a TDS-2, the Præcis Ct™ can deliver highly accurate timing to any Endace DAG product. The Præcis Ct™ provides accurate GPS based timing, delivered by the CDMA cellular telephone network (where available). The advantage of a CDMA based time receiver over using GPS directly is that CDMA reception is often available indoors, avoiding the need for costly roof-top antenna installations. Endace is pleased to offer the Præcis Ct™ for use in conjunction with DAG products, please indicate your interest when inquiring about or ordering Endace products. |

Trimble™ Acutime™ Gold GPS Receiver
|
The Trimble™ Acutime™ Gold is a rugged integrated GPS receiver designed for high-precision timing applications using the latest technology. When used in conjunction with a TDS-2, the Acutime™ Gold can deliver highly accurate timing to any Endace DAG product. The Acutime™ Gold requires a clear view of the sky, and cannot be used indoors. It features a simple pole mount, and is integrated into a single sealed weathertight unit. A single 12-core cable is run to the TDS-2, which also provides power to the smart antenna. Endace is proud to offer the Acutime™ Gold for use in conjunction with DAG products, please indicate your interest when inquiring about or ordering Endace products. |

Time Distribution Modules:
TDS-2 and TDS-6 Time Distribution Server modules
|
The TDS-2 and TDS-6 Time Distribution Server modules provide high quality global time synchronization signals for up to 20 DAG cards. (Up to 14 DAG cards in a dense 1U rack mount package). All Endace DAG products are equipped with a standard time synchronization input port, with which the internal clock may be synchronized to an external time standard. When synchronized to an external standard, such as a GPS or CDMA time receiver, the timestamps of packets captured on different physical DAG cards may be accurately compared; for example: packets captured from both directions of a full-duplex link, or packets captured from geographically remote locations. These highly accurate timestamps can be used for QoS monitoring applications, bandwidth measurement, traffic engineering, and one-way packet delay and jitter measurement over long distances. The TDS-2 requires an external time source, and accepts RS422 input from a Trimble Acutime™ Gold GPS receiver, or RS232 input from an Endrun Technologies™ Praecis Ct CDMA time source. Two identical time synchronization outputs are available via RJ45 sockets on the face-plate. When additional time synchronization outputs are required, the TDS-2’s capacity may be expanded six outputs at a time by attaching as many as four further TDS-6 units without compromising timing accuracy. |

One TDS2 with the maximum number of TDS-6 expansion units can provide a total of 20 time synchronization outputs derived from a single external time standard via conventional Ethernet style (RJ45) patch cables. Each time synchronization output is independently driven, and cable runs up to 4000 feet (1200m) to each DAG card through existing UTP (Ethernet style) infrastructure are possible. The TDS-2/TDS-6 is not a network device, does not require an IP address or any on-going administration, and should never be attached to any Ethernet equipment. |
