At Interop Las Vegas, Endace Demonstrates How Network Monitoring and Recording Fabrics Dramatically Improve Visibility Into Every Aspect of 10 Gigabit Networks
Company’s Next Generation Monitoring and Recording Fabric Consolidates Hardware, Reduces Risk, Helps to Manage Reputations and Improve Compliance
Las Vegas — Interop Las Vegas — Endace (LSE: EDA), world leaders in network monitoring and recording, today outlined its activity at Interop Las Vegas, where it will demonstrate how Endace Monitoring and Recording Fabrics can support multiple network monitoring and security applications simultaneously, with every application being guaranteed a 100 percent accurate feed of packets. Endace is exhibiting in booth 1268 at Interop, which is being held May 8-12 at the Mandalay Bay Las Vegas.
Over the last 10 years, Endace has earned a global reputation for building the most accurate, flexible and scalable network monitoring and recording systems. The ability to capture, analyze and record every packet from the edge to the core of the network is widely accepted as an industry best and, when used in conjunction with the right software tools, can provide organizations the power to see everything from poor application performance through data theft to distributed denial of service attacks.
Endace Monitoring and Recording Fabrics consist of multiple Endace Systems deployed from a network edge all the way to the core data center or cloud hosting environment. Systems are “right-sized” to the exact network segment (from 10Mb/s to 100Gb/s) and can be managed from a single central point. Every Endace System natively supports the Endace Application Suite, which addresses the basic monitoring and security needs of every high-speed network, including network analytics, netflow generation, intrusion detection and packet data mining. In addition, Endace Systems also support the Endace Application Dock, which enables up to six custom, open source or commercial applications to be hosted in parallel.
“Where compliance is concerned or brand reputation for that matter, a missed network event caused by packet loss can have extremely serious consequences for an organization. In today’s commercial environment, the risks associated with data loss, or poor user experience for example, are simply too large and too important to be dismissed,” said Mike Riley, CEO of Endace. “At 10Gb/s single-use software-based solutions cannot be relied upon to capture an accurate stream of packets which makes them extremely dangerous, particularly in mission-critical environments where the consequences of missed network events can be catastrophic. In reality, beyond about 2Gb/s, the only truly reliable way to ensure that every packet is being seen is to deploy a dedicated Monitoring and Recording Fabric.”
Endace’s recently announced Application Dock Partner Program allows vendors of network monitoring and security applications to harness the power of Endace Monitoring and Recording Systems. The Application Dock programgives application vendors a ready-made solution for providing 10Gb/s capable appliances and, at the same time, gives organizations the ability to host the applications of their choosing on a common, purpose-built platform that is guaranteed to see every packet. A number of significant organizations have already joined the programincluding Psytechnics and Correlix.
By deploying an Endace Monitoring and Recording Fabric organizations are able to derive a number of significant business benefits that support risk, reputation and compliance strategies:
- Reduced risk of missed network events by ensuring that every application has a 100 percent accurate feed at speeds up to 100 Gb/s
- Better individual application output through improvement in the quality of the application’s input (timestamps, filters, etc.)
- Reduced operations and capital expenses through hardware consolidation and through standardization on a single monitoring platform across the network
- Improved mean time to resolution on issues through a common data set for all applications to call on, as well as consolidated workflows between applications
- Better compliance and auditability through the capture of a complete record of every packet for retrospective analysis
- Internal efficiencies in the application space by being able to deploy the right applications faster and being much more agile in the tool space
About Endace
Endace provides open network monitoring and recording systems that form the basis for mission-critical network security, monitoring and measurement solutions. Endace Systems are designed to be deployed from the edge to the core of the network, creating a complete monitoring and recording fabric on top of which a range of custom, open-source or commercial applications can be deployed.
One hundred percent packet capture is now widely accepted as a non-negotiable input to applications that are being used to help organizations manage risk, reputation and compliance. Based on proprietary DAG technology, Endace’s systems have a global reputation for consistently monitoring and recording 100-percent of network traffic at speeds up to 40 Gb/s.
Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Endace also has offices in the U.K. and the United States. Quoted on London's AIM, the stock code is LSE: EDA. For more information visit www.endace.com.
