Hardware consolidation

Advanced systems that deliver hardware consolidation

There’s no doubt that the current monitoring paradigm is broken. With today’s technology, it’s absurd that data centers should be full of bays of servers that, at a hardware level at least, are essentially identical. Virtualization has touched just about every other part of the modern enterprise IT infrastructure and it was only a matter of time before it influenced network appliances.

Using the latest multi-core systems and proprietary software smarts that filters traffic before it reaches the application layer, we have enabled up to 6 applications to co-exist on the same platform, with each application sharing the same source of 100% accurate traffic.

  • At a single application level, the performance of the platform would typically enable organizations to reduce the hardware footprint of any given application by 50 percent. Endace will do in a 1U system what it would normally take our competitors 2U (or more) to achieve.
  • Where more than one application is hosted on the platform the real space weight and power benefits can be felt. We frequently see situations where 2 x 2U systems can be consolidated into 1 x1U Endace System.

It’s also worth noting that the high port count and flexible port configurations supported by Endace Systems reduces organizations’ dependency on aggregator switches, which in themselves consume valuable data center resources.
