To enable you to take advantage of the highly accurate timestamping provided by our DAG® cards and Endace Systems, we also provide CDMA and GPS Time Receivers, and our TDS range of Time Distribution Servers, which enable time signals to be accurately synchronized across multiple capture points simultaneously.
Transceivers are used to connect Endace products to your network. We supply a range of both optical and electrical devices covering all interfaces from 10Gbps Ethernet to SONET OC-192 to ensure you’re up and running quickly.

From 10Mbps to 10Gbps, Net Optics Taps provide in-line access to network link traffic for security, network management, and more. Shipped with the appropriate network and monitoring cables, these Taps are simple plug-and-play solutions. Most models feature Net Optics’ Zero Delay™ technology - guaranteeing no packets are dropped during a power outage - along with redundant power supplies and passive fail-open link reliability.
iTap technology, unique to Net Optics, provides a new perspective on the role of the network tap. With iTap, network analysts now have access to link utilization information, traffic statistics, and alarms via either a front panel display and comprehensive software management utilities. Most importantly, Net Optics System Manager and Web Manager software utilities enable remote configuration and alarm notification. Optional Wi-Fi for wireless control and monitoring is also available.
Bypass switches provide fail-open access for in-line network security appliances and monitoring devices. In the event of an in-line device experiencing link, application or catastrophic power outage, an exclusive Net Optics Heartbeat feature immediately detects the failure and bypasses the device, thereby protecting against data loss or service outage.

When used with DAG® and Endace Systems, both the Trimble™ Acutime™ Gold and EndRun Technologies Præcis Ct™ provide a highly accurate time-signal source that can be used for synchronizing the accurate timestamping of captured traffic. Both GPS and CDMA receivers can be combined with our Time Distribution Server products to provide time synchronization across more than 500 DAG-based products.
The Trimble™ Acutime™ Gold is a rugged integrated GPS receiver designed for high-precision timing applications using the latest technology.
The unit provides a highly accurate 1PPS timing signal to the Endace TDS-2 or TDS-24 Time Distribution Servers; it features a simple pole mount, and is integrated into a single sealed weather-tight unit. This is an externally mounted unit that requires a clear view of the sky and is not appropriate for indoor use. When used with the TDS-24, the supplied Trimble Universal Interface Kit is required.
The Præcis II is a second-generation product that takes advantage of over a decade of experience with CDMA timing modules and includes enhanced features, including the ability to synchronize to CDMA PCS frequencies. Older generation products (Præcis Cf & Præcis Ct) could only synchronize to CDMA cellular frequencies. This restricted the locations where they could operate. Adding the CDMA PCS frequencies expands the range of locations where the Præcis II can be used. The Præcis II replaces both the Præcis Cf and Præcis Ct by combining their functionality and is backward compatible.
As an integrated CDMA receiver, the Præcis II is provides accurate 1PPS timing signal to our Endace TDS-2 Time Distribution Server.
The Præcis II's small size and convenient packaging, coupled with its integrated antenna, make it easy to install wherever it is needed.
The Endace TDS 2, TDS 6, and our flagship TDS 24 Time Distribution Server modules provide a scalable solution to provide high quality global time synchronization signals to meet the requirements of your deployment.
All Endace DAG® products are equipped with a standard time synchronization input port, with which the internal clock may be synchronized to an external time standard. When synchronized to an external standard, such as a GPS or CDMA time receiver, the timestamps of packets captured on different physical DAG cards may be accurately compared; for example, packets captured from both directions of a full-duplex link, or packets captured from geographically remote locations. These highly accurate timestamps can be used for QoS monitoring applications, bandwidth measurement, traffic engineering, and one-way packet delay and jitter measurement over long distances.
The Endace TDS 2 takes an external 1PPS time source, either a RS422 input from a Trimble Acutime™ Gold GPS receiver, or RS232 input from a Praecis II CDMA receiver. It distributes this signal to up to two Endace DAG cards.
When additional time synchronization outputs are required, the TDS 2’s capacity may be expanded, six outputs at a time, by attaching TDS 6 units (up to four) without compromising timing accuracy.
The Endace TDS 24 is a 1U Time Distribution Server capable of providing accurate timing information to 24 Endace network monitoring devices. TDS 24 modules can be daisy-chained to provide timing information to more than 500 Endace DAG-based devices.
