Software Engineer - Network Specialist

Typically operating at Gigabit speeds and above, Endace solutions are deployed in some of the fastest and most complex network environments in the world, run by some of the world's largest and most successful organisations.
Endace is developing a new range of network appliances, and is looking for a talented Software Engineer to help drive the development of our new product range.
You will be joining a new team dedicated to the development of these new platforms and will provide key input into the design of product functionality.
You will also be responsible for development, testing and maintenance in this growing team.
You will be a first-class developer with experience in C/C++ in a Unix/Linux environment and expertise in using OSS software tools such as autoconf, automake, cvs, gcc, gdb, gprof and make.
A working knowledge of POSIX and C Standard library is essential, as is a thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking. You will be Unix/Linux-literate, and familiarity with system administration on Windows and other platforms - such as BSD - would be advantageous.

- Analysis of customer requirements in conjunction with Marketing, Customers, and other key staff within Endace
- User Interface design, specification, implementation and maintenance
- Testing and documentation for all software developed
- Responding to customer problems by reproducing the problem on test equipment in the lab and liaising
- with appropriate staff within the company to diagnose and fix the problem.
