Endace is looking for an exceptional Software Engineer to develop API's and drivers for our range of world-leading Data Acquisition Generation (DAG) cards.

You will have expertise in designing and building cross-platform API's and device drivers using C/C++ and OSS tools (such as autoconf, automake, cvs, gcc, gdb, gprof, make etc) in a Unix/Linux/BSD environment (ideally with Windows experience as well).

You will have a detailed understanding of networking technology - ideally to Layer 1-4 network protocol level.(ATM, IP, POS, HDLC, AAL, Frame relay etc).

Working familiarity with any of the following would also be advantageous:

  • PERL, Python or shell-scripting
  • Assembly (ARM, PowerPC, x86)
  • WinPcap and WinDump
  • Open Source network applications - firewalls, intrusion detection systems, network monitors, packet
  • capture and filtering

Your role will include:
  • Design, development and testing of software device drivers, API's and system utilities
  • Testing, bug-fixing and liaising with product support personnel to provide timely response to customer issues
  • Working with hardware and firmware engineers to design and develop new software a modifications to existing software
  • Ongoing research
  • Documentation

Relevant tertiary qualification is a must, as are strong written and oral English skills.
