John is the senior non-executive director of Xaar plc (appointed in 2001) a global
supplier of inkjet technology and printheads. He is also a non-executive director
of a Lloyd's broker and five UK listed investment trusts, including Scottish Mortgage
Investment Trust plc and JP Morgan Fleming Claverhouse Investment Trust plc.
Until February 2005, John was a non-executive director of Quiktrak Networks plc,
a secure tracking and data messaging network operator, and prior to that worked
for Lazard Brothers & Co., Limited for 20 years, where he was appointed an executive
director in 1998.
John holds an MBA (with distinction) from INSEAD.
